Old or recent: why the old board is worth more
Boards from before ~2005 carry more gold (connectors, contacts, tantalum capacitors): an "old generation mixed" motherboard fetches more than double a recent one. Old phone boards and hard-drive PCBs are the densest in metals — hence their high rating.
